TRUenergy Yallourn is continuing its community activities and preparing for a number of events over the coming months.
TRUenergy Yallourn Fun Run/Walk & Community Market
This year’s Fun Run/Walk was a great success – attracting a huge crowd of runners, walkers and spectators. The weather was a little on the warm side but the Moe Yallourn Rail Trail is quite shady and there were plenty of trees to relax under at the Power Station Viewing Area.
This year a number of market stalls attracted additional interest from the local community.
All money raised from this event will be donated to GARDS (Gippsland Asbestos Related Diseases Support Inc) – we still have a couple of activities to complete before we can provide you with the final figure of the amount raised.
Our runners are always keen to check their times, so results sheets can be viewed by clicking on the links below. There is a results sheet giving the first three places in each age group, plus a full list of runners and their times.
Our congratulations to Sam Quirk who was the first runner to cross the line in a time of 24:01.
As in previous years, we could not run this event without the support of our many generous sponsors and supporters. A full list is available by clicking on the appropriate link below.

Moe’s TRUenergy Yallourn Jazz Festival
2010 will be the 11th year that Yallourn (firstly as Yallourn Energy and now as TRUenergy) has supported the Jazz Festival, with the last 9 years seeing us taking on the role of major sponsor – a great commitment to the local community!
Come along and help us celebrate over the Labour Day weekend in March. Jazz enthusiasts from across the state will be in attendance as the town moves to the jazz beat! Nearly every venue in town participates in this fantastic Festival, and of course the weekend kicks off with the street parade, official opening and “big blow” in the main street on Saturday morning!
For more information have a look at the Jazz Festival website at http://www.moe.latrobe.net.au/jazz/
TRUenergy Community Support Program at Yallourn
As a member of the Latrobe Valley community we recognise we have a special role as a corporate citizen, and a responsibility to support the local community in which we operate and our employees live.
Each year we support a large number of Latrobe Valley organisations, schools, sporting clubs and events. We are the major sponsor of three of our local football clubs (Moe, Newborough and Yallourn Yallourn North Football Netball Clubs) and two of our local soccer clubs (Monash and Newborough Yallourn United), the Central Gippsland Junior Football League, the Central Gippsland Cricket Association, the annual TRUenergy Golf Classic, the TRUenergy Classic Singles lawn bowls tournament and Moe’s TRUenergy Yallourn Jazz Festival.
We are also a partner in the PowerWorks Energy and Technology Centre – the electricity industry information and tour centre in Morwell. More information on PowerWorks can be found at www.powerworks.com.au.
