Offset the past and cut back for the future.

In this day and age, many of the things we take for granted can be harmful to the planet. But with TRUenergy Planet Neutral, you can do your part for the environment by cutting back the effect of the emissions you create.

For most of us, we generate harmful carbon gases (or CO2 emissions) through everyday activities such as driving, using our household appliances or air travel. In fact1 , the average household produces over 12 tonnes (or 240,000 balloons worth) of greenhouse gas emissions each year.

With TRUenergy Planet Neutral, you can lower your environmental impact by rethinking your current energy usage, reducing future emissions with a green energy plan or offsetting the effect of your past usage emissions with carbon credits.

How can I lessen my impact on the environment?

With TRUenergy Planet Neutral, you can make a difference in 3 easy ways:

Rethink your current energy use.
The more efficiently you use your energy, the less gases you are creating. So before anything else, look at ways in which you can save around the home (best of all, you could reduce your energy costs as well!) For a full range of energy tips for your home or business, click here.

Reduce your impact with a green energy plan.
When you choose a green energy plan, you are instructing us to purchase a nominated percentage of electricity from a GreenPower accredited renewable energy source that creates fewer harmful emissions.

Remove the effect of carbon emissions.
Through the use of our carbon calculator, you can discover how many tonnes of CO2 you produce as an individual or business through your home energy use, business energy use, car and air travel. You can then purchase carbon credits to offset these emissions.

Your money goes towards programs that actively reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere (such as tree planting) and you'll receive a certificate detailing how many emissions you have offset. This can all seem very new and exciting, and it's natural to want to know more. You can find a full list of frequently asked questions about offsetting your carbon emissions here.
