2012 Price Increase for Victoria
What are my new energy rates?
- We've included a table in your letter that shows the new prices you will be paying. The table shows both GSTinclusive and GSTexclusive prices.
- There is no change to any discounts, rewards or concessions that you may have linked to your plan. View more information about TRUenergy offers for residential customers or small business customers.
- Your new rates will appear on the first TRUenergy bill you receive after 1 January 2012.
When will the adjusted prices come into effect?
- The effective date for your new prices is 1 January 2012.
- You’ll see the new prices on the first bill you receive after this date.
Why is there an increase?
- The change is largely due to a number of factors that include:
- higher network costs that we are charged by your local network provider for supplying energy to your premise
- increased costs associated with complying with government energy schemes
Will my discounts associated with my plan change?
- Any discounts, concessions, rebates or rewards that you may have linked to your plan have not changed.
How can I reduce my electricity bills?

Can I change my payment plan?
- We have a number of options available to help you with your gas and electricity payments. You can contact our customer service team who will work with you to find a payment option to suit your needs. What if I can't pay my next bill?
- If you have any concerns about paying your next bill please contact our customer service team who will work with you to arrange a suitable plan. To find out more about this service, please call us on 1800 143 097 between 8am6:30pm Monday to Friday (AEST).
What happens if I have a bill that covers a period before and after 1 January 2012?
- Your bill will be pro-rated so that the period before 1 January 2012 will be billed at the old rates and the period on and after 1 January 2012 will be billed at the new rates.
